Who we are
Hook & Ladder No. 8 is an independent music project based in New Jersey. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to info@hookandladder8.net.
What we collect
The only information you give us is what you type into the call list signup form: your first name, your email address, and whether you left the music-and-news box ticked. We also record which page you signed up from. Our hosting provider may record technical details of the submission, such as your IP address, as part of its spam protection.
You can listen to every song preview and read every page without giving us anything.
How we use it
- To send you the full song you asked for.
- To send occasional new music and news from the band, if you left the box ticked. You can stop these at any time.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
Who handles it for us
Signups are received and stored by Netlify, which hosts this site, and are emailed to the band. Netlify acts on our instructions and is bound by its own privacy commitments. No other company receives your details.
Cookies and browser storage
This site uses no advertising or analytics trackers. It keeps three small items in your browser so the site works: a note that you joined the call list, so the full song stays unlocked on that device; your first name, so the members page can greet you; and your motion preference if you turn animations off. None of these leave your browser, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Your choices
- Untick the box when you sign up if you want the song only.
- Reply to any email, or write to us, to stop future emails.
- Email info@hookandladder8.net to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you.
How long we keep it
We keep your name and email while you are on the call list. When you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, we delete your record within thirty days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the record.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
